‘Like’ for a free stay Рif you’ve got social media klout

By admin

An up-market hotel is allowing those with more than 2000 private Facebook ‘friends’ to stay free of charge for up to seven nights.

The Nordic Light Hotel with an average room rate of $420 per night, is giving up rooms for ‘likes’ – if you’ve got the social media klout to count, according to 9news.

If you’re really popular, and have more than 100,000 fans on Facebook and 100,000 or more followers on Instagram – you too can stay for free in the hotel.

Not a hot shot on social media? The hotel will still let you stay, at a discounted rate but you’ll have to make up the payment by sharing a post when making a reservation, and another one when checking in and out of the hotel.

Guests also have to ‘like’ the hotel on Facebook and tag themselves at the property checking in and out, as well as mentioning the hotel’s website and the company’s Facebook page in posts.

Instagram aficionados will have to tag pictures taken at the hotel and follow another set of rules.

Those who refuse to abide by the conditions may find their free stay has turned into a potentially expensive excursion.

"If the guest does not share the posts that are necessary to take part of the discount/ free nights, the guest will be charged full price for the stay," the hotel said in a statement on its website, as reported by 9News.

"If the guest does not have the amount of friends/followers/fans that is necessary, Nordic Light Hotel may charge the guest full price for the stay."
