Travel Bulletin "calls it a day"
Travel trade publication Travel Bulletin has thanked the industry for its support as it confirmed its June issue will be its last.
The monthly publication, owned by Ian McMahon and Eddie Raggett, has been running for almost 10 years.
The pair said the decision to call time had been made somewhat “reluctantly”, however a combination of health and lifestyle reasons had prompted the move.
Speaking to Travel Today, McMahon stressed the publication is “still profitable”.
“But I just think now is the right time to go,” he said. “There are lots of things that we will miss, but there just comes a time when you have to say let’s call it a day.”
Although a buyer was sought over the last few months, the search was without success.
“If anyone wants to buy it still, all they need is a cheque book,” McMahon added.
While he spoke fondly of the excitement and adrenaline of running Bulletin, he said he was looking forward to some time off to take the opportunity to “smell the roses”, although he was confident he would continue his involvement in the travel industry in the future.
