From December 3, the new carrier will commence flights from Bali to Labuan Bajo, Ende and Bima thanks to the aircraft’s ability to land on runways of less than 1,600 metres.

The new services are expected to be particularly popular with Australians who are “very curious and confident travellers”, according to vice president Australia, New Zealand and South West Pacific Uun Setiawan.

The winner of Royal Caribbean International’s Instagram film festival – a world first – will now be one of the first to sail on its Quantum of the Seas superliner.

The prize has been upgraded to include a voyage onboard the superliner in November 2014 and includes return flights from Australia to New York and a balcony cabin for two people.

The competition finale will take place onboard Voyager of the Seas in Sydney Harbour on February 13.
