Air New Zealand saw passenger numbers climb 3.3% year on year to 1.36 million in December. Capacity for the month rose 1.6% as load factor increased 1.6 percentage points to 86%.

Tasman/Pacific demand outpaced overall growth, up 4.7% on December 2011 on the back of capacity hikes of 8.1%. However, the gap between demand and capacity increases saw load factor decline by 2.7 percentage points to 84.4%.

 

Tourism Council WA has appointed ten industry advisors to provide free consulting services to tourism and hospitality businesses in the state's regions. The new service is being funded under the federal government's $10.6 million Workforce Futures program.

 

The View from the Shard is the latest London attraction to be added to Rail Plus' list of UK sightseeing options. The viewing platform, located in the tallest building in Western Europe, officially opens to the public today with tickets priced from $50 per person. Rail Plus ticket holders will benefit from fast-track entry.
