A potholed car park where plane spotters go to watch Melbourne airport may be turned into a tourist hub.

An aeroplane-themed playground, food and beverage stalls and an interactive zone have been proposed for a car park close to Melbourne Airport.

The small VicRoads-owned site at the top of the north-south runway is frequented by plane spotters and tourists.
