Millennials willing to forgo Netflix, mobile phones to travel the world

Forget Netflix and the latest iPhone, it turns out what millennials REALLY want is, yep, you guessed it TRAVEL!

Youth travel experts, Contiki asked 18-35-year-old travellers some of life’s greatest questions, like what would you give up for travel, and how much time do you spend planning your holidays?

You know, the deep, soul-searching stuff.

And the results were surprising, to say the least.

Forget sex, carbs and coffee, throw Netflix and chill out the window because apparently millennials would much rather go on adventures and explore the world.

And if given the opportunity to travel free for six months, according to the survey by Contiki, they would give up all-of-the-above just to jump on the next flight.

The survey also found that 83 per cent of millennials are travelling one to five times a year, 48 per cent are travelling one or two times and 35 per cent are travelling three to five times per year.

Meanwhile, we’re lucky if we leave the office twice a year.

When it comes to what they’d be willing to abandon in the name of travel – 80 per cent said Netflix, coffee (77 per cent), alcohol (73 per cent), carbs (60 per cent), sex (57 per cent); and 41 per cent said their mobile phone – a huge call considering 49 per cent admit to spending 8-10 hours per day on their device.
