Midweek interview with TMS Talent’s Adrian Boccia

This week, we caught up with TMS Talent’s recruitment team manager for a drink or five. Oh, and this interview.

The challenge for the industry is…

Our industry faces challenges on a daily basis. From global politics, economic and environmental events to constant change in technology and people.

We are one hell of a resilient industry which I am very proud to be part of.

The things I like about my job are…

No two days are the same which keeps me on on my toes. People and culture are my passions and I love to get involved with my clients, sourcing the absolute best candidates for their respective businesses.

As well as coaching my candidates on their career pathways ensuring they continue to grow and evolve.

And the frustrations are …

Trying to educate clients into employing mum’s and dad’s returning back to the industry on a part-time basis.

If I didn’t work in travel, I would be…

The Mayor of Melbourne.

My favourite airline is…

Singapore Airlines.

My proudest moment was…

Most recently, winning my first game as Coach for my sons under 10s basketball team. The expressions on the boy’s faces were truly brilliant.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

I try to relax by…

Spending time with my family and friends, eating and drinking and heading to the footy on the weekends.

The last time I feared for my life was…

On a work conference in Phuket. Took the team out to a bar on Bangla Road. When it came time to pay the  18,000 Baht bar tab, they decided to not accept Credit Card as a payment option.

I was taken to an upstairs room at the back of a nightclub and was left in a dark room. When the lights came on 30 mins later I was faced by an interesting character holding a credit card machine. He took my payment and added 5000 Baht for his troubles.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Negative People.

I really wish I had…

A genie in a bottle.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Don’t sweat the small Sh$t

I don’t understand why people…

Become Vegan or Vegetarian – its just madness.

My greatest weakness is…

Impatience.

And my greatest strength is…

My optimism and resilience.

    If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Share it with family and friends.

If I was prime minister, I would…

Make Melbourne Australia’s capital city

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…

Centre half forward for the Essendon Football Club on Anzac Day

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Africa and see the big 5.

My favourite holiday was…

Italy to visit family.
