Her last day in the role will be the 27th of July, so save your tearful goodbyes until then.

We caught up with Tyrrell to find out more about her journey with Hawaiian and what influenced her resignation.

Tyrrell told us it has been “an absolute honour” to oversee the transition of Hawaiian’s commercial structure across Australia and New Zealand.

“It has also been exciting to work with the airline’s global team during a period of international growth and product advancement,” she said.

“I am very confident that we have the best structure now to support our expanded operations from Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland to Honolulu and that my hardworking teams in both countries can maximise the opportunities ahead.”

Tyrrell attributes the airline’s success and strong demand to her team but also to the support of agents.

“I have truly enjoyed working with Hawaiian.  The airline has a unique company culture and a commitment to customer service which stems from Hawaii’s warm and genuine spirit of Aloha,” she said.

“I will certainly miss my Hawaiian Ohana (family), however, my decision to depart at this time is simply to accept an exciting new opportunity to again drive change in our industry, across Australasia.”
