Flight attendant saves two teens from trafficking

When two teenage girls showed up at her counter with no ID and one way tickets, American Airlines agent Denice Miracle knew something was up.

And it was a lot more sinister than that time we left our ID at the cafe during the Monday morning coffee binge.

Shanghai, China - May 30, 2017: An American Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner approaches Shanghai Pudong airport for landing.

The two Californian teens, aged 17 and 15, showed up at Sacramento International airport over the weekend with just two small bags and tickets booked by another person with fraudulent credit cards.

“It seemed to me as if they were running away from home,” Miracle said.

“They kept looking at each other in a way that seemed fearful and anxious. I had a gut feeling something just wasn’t right.”

After refusing to let the girls on the flight, Miracle called the police.

The girls told Deputy Todd Sanderson than a man named “Drey”, whom they met on Instagram, had offered them $2000 US dollars ($2530AUD) to fly to New York where he promised the girls they would model and appear in music videos.

Which doesn’t sound suspicious at all.

Ahem.

After Deputy Sanderson told the girls they didn’t have a flight home, their bubble began to burst.

“In my opinion what was going to happen was they were going to go back to New York and become victims of sex trafficking,” he said.

Yikes! And we thought we had it bad, dealing with Monday morning.

The girls told Deputy Sanderson they wouldn’t let that happen but he assured them that they probably wouldn’t have a choice in the matter.

I think we can all agree the real hero is Miracle for spotting the danger, to begin with.

“I fully believe she probably prevented these girls from becoming victims,” said Deputy Sanderson.

The Instagram account that contacted the girls has been deleted and the shifty ultra-creep “Drey” is yet to be identified.

All we can say about the matter is thank god for Ms. Miracle for realising something was amiss.

You could say it was a true MIRACLE.

Sorry, we’ll see ourselves out.
