ANA's Star Wars plane brings force to Sydney
By admin

As if we weren’t already excited enough about the new Star Wars movie with less than a week to go, All Nippon Airways is whipping up even more of a frenzy by bringing its R2-D2 themed plane to Sydney this weekend.

The Japanese carrier has three Boeing jets decked out in Star Wars-livery to pay tribute to the blockbuster George Lucas movie franchise which appears to be as popular now as ever.

Beyond the Star Wars fanfare, tomorrow’s touch down will mark the arrival of ANA’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service on its new Tokyo-Sydney route.

Sydney Airport managing director and chief executive Kerrie Mather and ANA senior vice president Kenya Inada, together with NSW parliamentary secretary for major events and tourism Jonathan O’Dea MP, will welcome the inaugural flight of the newest airline to serve the NSW capital.

“The arrival of ANA is great news for tourism and trade, bringing an additional 36,000 Japanese visitors to Sydney each year and contributing an anticipated $74 million in additional annual visitor expenditure to NSW,” ANA said.
