Timmins a victim of tough times

Timmins a victim of tough times

Travelscene American Express general manager Jacqui Timmins will leave the business this week as Jetset Travelworld Group restructures amid difficult trading conditions.

Timmins was one of three senior managers within the Travelscene Amex operation, a situation regarded as too management heavy at a time when all companies are fighting to cut costs.

David Padman will now oversee the leisure network in addition to the Corporate division.

Timmins, who has been with Travelscene for more than four years, told Travel Today she “completely understood” the decision.

But it is one which is likely to disappoint many members.

The restructure comes six weeks after JTG said it was “reviewing all aspects of its business in light of the trading conditions”.
