Abercrombie & Kent unveils three different travel styles
Leading luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has revealed three types of small-group journeys along with a new adventure concept.
Featuring journeys visiting established and emerging destinations, A&K’s 2020 compendium of Small Group Journeys reveals how agents take their clients to the heart of a destination with the privilege of authentic, local access.
Here’s Travel Weekly’s breakdown of two of the standout concepts in the collection:
Three different styles of small-group journey
The 2020 compendium presents three types of small group journey: Limited Edition, Luxury Small Group Journey and Wings over the World.
The Limited Edition collection offers tours for the intrepid traveller, exploring destinations like Mongolia, Central Asia and Madagascar. These tours balance guided activity and educational elements with space for self-discovery and time at leisure.
The Luxury Small Group Journey category denotes trips to the world’s most iconic places, with travel at a faster pace, while still revealing the destination in depth thanks to illuminating expert guides. VIP travelling bellboys take care of all luggage logistics and complimentary laundry is offered midway through trips.
Furthermore, for a limited time A&K is waiving the single supplement fee for the first two solo travellers booked on a select range of its Limited Edition Small Group Journeys. Solo travellers who act fast can save up to $5,250 on journeys booked by 31 August 2019 (unless allocation is sold out sooner) for departures in 2020.

The third category is A&K’s cream of the crop: Wings Over the World. These tours dodge the queues at airports in favour of chartered private planes and visit a variety of destinations, including Spain, Morocco, Israel, Egypt and Jordan.
All journeys are accompanied throughout by an A&K resident tour director, with guest numbers limited to a maximum of 18 on all styles mentioned.
What’s new?
A&K has also introduced the innovative ‘Design Your Day’ concept to its group portfolio, giving guests the ability to personalise certain days of their itinerary.
In Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater area, your clients can choose between a walk with a Maasai healer, high tea at a colonial coffee estate or a bike ride through local villages.
While in Budapest, they’ll have the choice of exploring a local market and providores or an Art Nouveau architecture focused walking tour.
And in Shanghai, your clients will take their pick of a heritage walk through the Jewish Quarter, a tour of the emerging West Bund art district or a street food jaunt.
With nearly 60 years’ experience and 56 offices in its robust worldwide network, A&K is expertly positioned through its local connections and passionate travel specialists to take travellers down the road less travelled, devising unique, meticulously planned journeys into hard-to-reach places to commune with authentic cultures.
