(Natalie Pope – Glenelg, South Australia)
This amazing photo was taken while onboard mv Ushuaia by Natalie Pope, a Travel and Cruise Consultant at Phil Hoffmann Travel in Glenelg South Australia.
Natalie said the photo was taken on a fairly basic Panasonic Lumix, and said she loves the colours in the photo which she wasn’t expecting given it was taken in Antarctica.
Zoe Francis – Adelaide

“This is my favourite holiday photo ever.”
Zoe Francis described this as her “favourite holiday photo ever.”
“It was taken in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda after a much longer than expected hike to see the gorillas,” she said.
“What we thought might be a few hours hike turned into 6 plus and hope was fading to see these gorgeous animals in the wild.
“We were almost forced to turn back due to fading daylight when we finally found this family of wild gorillas.”
Zoe Francis is a National Sales Manager at Bunnik Tours in Adelaide.
Sonya Lowry – Brisbane
![](https://www.travelweekly.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/image003-1.png)
The sights and smells of New York.
Sonya sent us this photo which she says means a lot to her as it reminds her of time spent with her daughter.
Sonya works for AstraZeneca, so there was no chance of the email containing any viruses!
“Earlier this year I was lucky enough to spend ten Summer nights in the city that never sleeps with my 16-year-old daughter.
“A trip designed to make life-long memories, share experiences and grow together,” she said.
“The Lonely Planet book is full of amazing images and my picture from our hotel room is the same. Who does not recognise Times Square in New York City?”
“When I look at this picture I can see and hear yellow cabs, squealing fire trucks, laughing tourists exploring the city and the lucky residents that get to call NYC home.”
“Like the stunning images that fill The Lonely Planet, they may be still shots but for me they have movement, sound and smell, sending me straight back to an amazing adventure with my daughter.”
As well as naming Sonya a winner of one of these books, we suggest she takes up work writing PR releases for Lonely Planet!
Neville Fenn – NiftyNevTours
![](https://www.travelweekly.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Paris-Baghdad-Cairo-Express-1-1.jpg)
Paris Baghdad Cairo Express.
This entry from Neville combines two of his passions, travel and trains.
“A favourite photo of mine was when I was travelling through Egypt some years ago and we came across this oasis in the middle of a desert called Baris, commonly referred to as Paris.
“My interest in railways came to me by taking this photo of a train sitting at what appeared to be a rarely used railway station.”
As someone who often takes photos of airplanes while on holiday, I can relate. A great photo and a worthy winner of the book!
Jared Voss – Princess Cruises
![](https://www.travelweekly.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Sun-Set.jpeg)
Jared Voss – Princess Cruises
Jared took this photo during a four-week Mediterranean adventure onboard the stunning Enchanted Princess.
“After a sun-soaked day at a local beach in 35-degree heat, I sat on my balcony as we sailed away watching a postcard live before my eyes.
“With a cold beer in hand, and my partner and little one-year-old having a pre-dinner siesta inside, I took out my camera and snapped away.”
We are glad you did, Jared! Thanks for entering and enjoy the book!
