The race is over for Aussie agents

After a week of adventure, the race around UK and Ireland has finally come to a close.

Qantas Holidays’ Race Around UK & Ireland participants have crossed the finish line in London, and marked the end of an exciting week with a glamorous Gala Dinner.

The winning team, hurtling across the finish line first, was the mighty Team Scotland, but in the end, all agents came out trumps.

Over the past week, 60 of Australia’s top travel agents have been racing around England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, with itineraries bursting with different activities and team challenges as they competed to be named the winning team.

Ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in September, the travel agents have experience firsthand the atmosphere buzzing around, with the holiday giving the agents plenty of personal experiences and travel tips to take home.

The four teams were immersed in the history, cultures, and cuisines of the UK & Ireland, as they visited some of the most iconic and historical tourist destinations, soaked up the adrenalin of bustling cities and admired the beautiful scenic views.

“The UK and Ireland are such popular tourist destinations for Australians and we are thrilled that our participants were able to see and experience as much of the countryside and culture as they did in one week,” Qantas Holidays’ head of sales Fiona Dalton said.

“After hearing so many great stories at the Gala Dinner and seeing the fantastic images captured along their journeys, we are positive their knowledge and experiences will be shared with many Australian customers.”

Qantas Holidays made the race happen with the support of Tourism Ireland, Visit Scotland, Visit Wales, Visit England, and Visit Britain, along with Qantas, Cheval Residences and London’s Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels.
