PSAV picks up Aussie event tech team

PSAV is opening its wallet to purchase an audiovisual and event specialist company based in Sydney.

Staging Connections Group Limited operates with a strong presence in Australia, Singapore, China, Fiji and across the ditch in New Zealand, with the parties anticipating to close the transaction during the latter part of the year.

Staging Connections has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, and is known as a bit of an expert in the event tech world, including staging, styling, event theming, set design, multimedia and more.

The company has more than 750 dedicated event professionals working in 100 locations at over 75 hotels, leading venues, and convention centres.

The acquisition of Staging Connections is an opportunity to achieve PSAV’s goal to continue to blossom in the international marketplace, while also ensuring a strong partnership is formed.

Staging Connections is Australia’s only integrated event services provider and therefore offers something unique to the market that combines technical production and design services with the latest in digital media.

“Our entire PSAV team joins me in enthusiastically welcoming the Staging Connections Group into the PSAV family,” PSAV’s president and ceo Mike McIlwain said.

“Their global recognition for being leaders across integrated events, AV services, specialized event services, exhibitions and produced events makes them the ideal extension of our business.”

“Due to this agreement, we will be able to provide our customers with innovative events, extended service offerings and increased value creation even further throughout the world.”

Staging Connections will continue to operate as they do today, but will now have the added benefit of PSAV’s additional technical resources and support structure.

The leadership team, as well as the operational structure, will remain in place in order to ensure the transition runs smoothly and client relationships continue to be managed appropriately.

“This partnership is truly an exciting endeavour for our company and team members,” Staging Connections’ md Tony Chamberlain said.

“It opens the door to broader technology offerings, resources and professional expertise. The agreement will provide Staging Connections with the capability to offer our clients an international solution to all their event needs.”
