Preferred Travel Group proves action with 61% of senior leadership positions held by women associates

It’s International Women’s Day, and Preferred Travel Group is excited to celebrate this year’s theme to #EmbraceEquity and to share data that shows how its global travel and hospitality company is supporting the development of women associates globally and creating opportunities for them to hold or progress into senior roles.

As of March 1, 2023, 61% of senior leadership positions within Preferred Travel Group’s family of brands are occupied by women associates. For context, across the travel and hospitality industry globally, approximately 30% of senior leadership positions are occupied by women – despite women making up 55% of the workforce. The following breakdown of the company’s composition shows how development and retention of talent, in addition to recruitment, are driving equitable employment at the company:

  • 97 out of 159 Director level positions (or above) within the company are held by women associates globally
  • 33 out of 56 Vice President level (or above) positions are filled by women
  • 13 women were recruited to the company’s leadership team (Director level or above) over the past 12 months
  • 13 women were promoted from within the company over the same period

The average length of service for women associates at Preferred Travel Group is 5 to 6 years

“Celebrating the progress and achievements of women around the world on International Women’s Day is incredibly meaningful and serves as a reminder that we should embrace equity in the workplace every day and across the hospitality industry, particularly at the top where change remains a priority,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Travel Group.

“We strive to empower all of our associates to fulfill their potential and cultivate talents, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities across the organization and setting executive goals to ensure efforts in these areas are substantive and visible throughout our global team.”

Preferred Travel Group is the parent company of hotel and travel consultancy brands Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, Historic Hotels of America, Historic Hotels Worldwide, PTG Consulting, and Beyond Green Travel, representing more than 1,100 hotels, resorts, and residences across 80 countries, in addition to a global portfolio of destination marketing organizations and tourist boards.
