Not cool: Martha Stewart’s iceberg cocktail post gets frosty reception online

Not since April 1912 has an iceberg created so many headlines.

Martha Stewart, the woman who much like an iceberg has previously hidden many things under the surface, has been criticised online for a post made while cruising the Arctic.

An Instagram photo showing Stewart using a “small iceberg” to cool her cocktail was given a frosty reception.

“Pleated iceberg. perfect for cocktails!” The celebrity posted while on a cruise between Greenland to Iceland.

The 82-year-old has previously served prison time for insider trading. Following her release, she told media she was known behind bars as “M. Diddy.”

“End of the first zodiac cruise from @swanhelleniccruises into a very beautiful fjord on the east coast of Greenland.” the post said.

“We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight.”

One fan responded to the post in disbelief.

“Martha the ice caps are melting don’t put them in your drink.”

Glaciologist Eric Rignot, a professor in the Earth System Science department at the University of California at Irvine defended Stewart’s actions.

“It is not like she went to a glacier and carved a piece of ice off it,” Rignot told Page Six.

Another ice expert jumped to the defence of Stewart.

“Popping a bit of ice into a drink is no worse than taking a glass of water from a river,” said glaciologist Ian Allison, a professor at the University of Tasmania’s Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies.
