Former Tourism WA boss Carolyn Turnbull snapped up by Victor Goh’s hotel and hospitality division

    Former Tourism Western Australia managing director Carolyn Turnbull will lead Victor Goh’s expanding hotel and hospitality division as CEO with an initial focus on the completion of Elizabeth Quay projects.

    “Carolyn’s unique leadership and proven track record locally and internationally make her perfect to oversee our hotel and hospitality ventures,” Goh said.

    “Her deep understanding of the industry will be instrumental in realising our shared vision of creating and operating remarkable properties that will elevate Perth’s profile on the global stage.”

    The announcement comes less than two weeks after she announced she was stepping down from the Tourism WA role. She will start with Goh on Tuesday, 4 June.

    “I am delighted to partner with Victor Goh to produce world-class hotel and hospitality assets,” she said. “These projects will be truly distinctive and further supercharge the growth of Perth’s accommodation and hospitality offering.”

    During her tenure as Managing Director of Tourism Western Australia, Turnbull achieved a number of significant milestones. Her initiaties helped deliver a record-breaking $17.7 billion in visitor spend, demonstrating her ability to drive economic growth. She spearheaded the creation of the globally recognised tourism brand ‘Walking On A Dream’, attracted high-profile entertainment and sporting events and facilitated nonstop flights from 19 international destinations, cementing Perth’s reputation as the ‘western gateway’ to Australia.

    Drawing on her international expertise, Turnbull brings extensive knowledge in ultra-luxury accommodation, including over a decade working alongside industry pioneer Adrian Zecha, founder of Aman Resorts.

    Turnbull also hold an Executive MBA in Hospitality Management from Nanyang Business School in Singapore and Cornell School of Hotel Administra on in New York. Furthermore, Ms. Turnbull is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Over the past decade, Goh’s iconic buildings have transformed the Perth CBD and skyline.

    With the recent completion of the distinctive 36-level tower at One Spring Street, Goh has shifted his focus to the exclusive hotel project set to grace Elizabeth Quay later this year. Further details of this highly anticipated launch will follow soon, promising an exceptional new experience for Perth.
