Delta’s doing LAX – BNE three times a week from December
Edited by Travel Weekly

Delta has announced it will launch a seasonal route between Los Angeles and Brisbane from December this year that will operate three times a week through March 2025.

“With this addition of Brisbane, Delta’s upcoming summer schedule will offer our customers up to 17 weekly flights between Australia and the U.S.,” senior VP network planning, Delta, Joe Esposito, said.

“This marks our most extensive schedule to the South Pacific to date, and as we build our presence in the region, we know our customers will enjoy the enhanced experience consistently provided by Delta.”

This route opens doors for more Australian travellers to indulge in the glamorous allure of Hollywood in Los Angeles or to take advantage of more than 40 convenient one-stop connections to popular U.S. cities.

“We are very proud Brisbane Airport will become Delta’s second destination in Australia,” CEO, Brisbane Airport, Gert-Jan de Graaff, said.

“Brisbane is charting unprecedented territory, witnessing an unparalleled level of interest from North American visitors. This strategic move by Delta Air Lines not only fortifies the ties between the United States and Queensland but also signifies a boost for the local visitor economy.

“American tourists love visiting Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Noosa, travelling north to savour the wonders of The Great Barrier Reef and west to experience the Outback. I’m not sure if it is the upcoming Olympics or the insatiable appetite for Bluey, but right now Brisbane is the ‘must add’ destination for North American carriers, and this opens a world of opportunity.”

Delta will now serve two cities in Australia, including Sydney, giving U.S. customers ample opportunities to immerse themselves in Australia’s charm. Our customers will enjoy Queensland where they can experience Brisbane’s art galleries, scenic cycling trails, vibrant food markets, and the world’s largest Koala sanctuary. Brisbane offers easy access to other popular Queensland destinations including the Gold Coast Noosa, the Great Barrier Reef and the Outback.

A premium experience in the air

This route will operate on the Airbus A350-900 with four product experiences: Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

Delta One customers experience increased privacy and the luxury of a fully reclining seat, accompanied by plush bedding crafted from recycled materials, artisan-made amenity kits, chef-curated meals, and additional comforts. Meanwhile, Delta Premium Select passengers enjoy a wider seat with a deeper recline and an adjustable footrest and leg rest expanded space, an enhanced dining experience, and various other thoughtful amenities.

Customers can also anticipate a recently refreshed food and beverage program featuring carefully curated menu selections, including specialty snacks, as well as a premium array of beer, wine, and spirit choices. All passengers can enjoy a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options, with complimentary access to 1,000+ hours of content on Delta Studio.

    Expanding in the South Pacific

Delta’s Brisbane-to LAX route is the latest in a series of investments the airline – already the leading global carrier at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – is making in the South Pacific region. In summer 2022, Delta introduced a second seasonal frequency from Sydney to LAX, providing customers access to Los Angeles via 14 flights per week.
