Contiki doubles up with two new Philippines itineraries
Edited by Travel Weekly

Contiki has launched its newest island hopping adventures with two unforgettable trips to the Philippines aimed at the 18-35 year old market.

The new itineraries come of the back of data showing growing demand among Aussie travellers to visit Asia, with a 64 per cent increase in bookings in the past year.

Travellers will experience the best of the Philippines during their choice of either a 13-day or nine-day package.

    The Philippines Island Hopping adventure

Across nine days, travellers will hop from the Philippines’ second-favourite holiday hotspot, Puerto Princesa, to Port Barton, to the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of El Nido.

For those who want to Phil their cup up even more on the 13-day trip, there’s an authentic four-day boat expedition that takes travellers to some of the Philippines’ most magical gems, including the Palawan Calamian group of islands (Northern Palawan archipelago) and famous attractions such as Coron Island, Culion and Linapacan.

Island hoppers will also get the chance to board a private boat, snorkel in Coral Garden, camp by the sea in Coron and visit the Turtle Islands.

Both itineraries include a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park, an island-hopping day trip in Port Barton, a jeepney ride to Nacpan Beach, and a unique Special Stay and MAKE TRAVEL MATTER experience at the Isla Experience on Daracotan Island – which directly contributes to the welfare of the locals.

Lucky Aussies get a first look at the trip

Australian traveller Christian was one of the first of four people to trial the trip.

“For me, the special stay at Darocotan Island was a highlight,” he said.

“I just really enjoyed being with the locals, and seeing the beautiful sights and the sunsets are just perfect.

“The whole trip was very relaxing, so I could kick back and wake up to breathtaking views each morning.”

Demand for the Philippines-inspired Contiki tour

Speaking to why Contiki has launched in the Philippines, Adam Armstrong, Global CEO at Contiki, said, “The Philippines is a sought-after destination for travellers worldwide, particularly those from the Gen-Z demographic.”

“We’re thrilled to now be satisfying that demand on a trip that makes visiting the Philippines so very easy – and fun too!

“This has been many years in the making, and we really wanted to make sure that we include only the best spots & something for everyone.

“We’re so happy to be able to launch this trip, which showcases the wonderful beaches, marine adventures and culture that the Philippines has to offer.”
