CLIA kicks off final week of Cruise Month

Aussie and Kiwi travel agents have blitzed social media with thousands of Cruise Month posts, putting cruising back in the spotlight using the #LoveCruise hashtag.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)’s managing director for Australasia, Joel Katz said this year’s reignited Cruise Month had been met with a huge wave of support.

“This year’s Cruise Month has a heavy focus on social media and we’ve seen some fantastic pick-up among travel agents who have amplified the initiative through their own digital campaigns,” Katz said.

“We’re seeing a great mix of imagery, videos and tactical offers to promote cruising, as well as a lot of personal insight from well-travelled cruise specialists.”

With just over a week to go in Cruise Month, CLIA is encouraging travel agents to take advantage of the Cruise Month Toolkit, which contains digital to mount your own Cruise Month campaigns.

Accessible via the CLIA Members Hub, the kit allows agents to download and post cruise images, social media tiles, suggested text, videos and other digital assets.

The kit also includes professionally written editorial that agents can use in their blogs, newsletters and other communications to help inform and inspire their clients.

Cruise Month’s final weekly theme began on Sunday and focusses on Luxury Cruising.

To celebrate Cruise Month, CLIA is also offering a prize of $1000 towards the cost of a cruise booked through a CLIA certified travel agent.

To be in the running, entrants need to explain in 25 words or less why they #LoveCruise using the online form at www.cruising.org.au.
