Aussie agents treated to Famil in New Caledonia

Top achieving Australian Travel agents have been rewarded by New Caledonia Tourism with a familiarisation trip to the destination this week as part of its e-learning trade program.

New Caledonia Tourism and the national airline, Aircalin, hosted a group of Australian travel agents who had the highest performance in their e-learning platform with the famil that took place between the 9th – 14th of March.

The attendees were treated to a range of experiences around the destination giving them the opportunity to personally experience the French slice of paradise.

The trip kicked off with a stay at the 5 star Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Spa & Golf Resort, located on the west coast of the island and nearby to the translucent blue waters of UNESCO lagoon.

The group also experience all that Noumea has to offer, including a range of hotel site visits, decadent lunches and dinners at a range of restaurants in the city, a culturally immersive visit to the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, a wine & cheese tasting at Chai de l’hippodrome and overnight stays at Le Meridien Noumea, Hilton La Promenade and Chateau Royal Hotel.

“We see the incredible value in inviting travel agents to New Caledonia, showing them around so they can learn all the great things about our destination and have an intrinsic knowledge about New Cal to be able to sell it to their customers,” account director, New Caledonia Tourisme Australia, Rebecca Marchal, said.

“With the recent record of Australian travellers, more Aussies are starting to discover how close New Caledonia is and we’re thrilled to have kick-started our famil program for the travel trade.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to invite more people in the industry over to find out why New Caledonia is a destination that Australians are putting on their travel lists for 2023.”

In December, a group of wholesalers were also invited to the New Caledonia Rendez-Vous Workshop, meeting with local industry partners.

Travel agents can sign up to the E-learning program to become a New Caledonia Specialist and go into the running for future famils to New Caledonia directly from their website.
