Malolo Island Resort snags major gong at ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards

Ahura Resorts announced that its Malolo Island Resort has been awarded “Best Superior Accommodation 2022” at the annual ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards on February 25th.

This is the 7th time Malolo has won this award since 2010.

The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards are judged by local business and tourism professionals. More than 500 people from the Fiji travel industry, including major hotels, airlines, tour operators and tourism service providers, were present at this year’s Awards event – the first since 2019 and after the country reopened.

“Receiving this award is especially gratifying as we celebrate the last 14 months of being open again after the two years of Pandemic closure,” Ahura Resorts owner and managing director, Tony Whitton said.

“It is a testament to our entire team of management and staff who have worked so hard to get Malolo back up on her feet to shine once again, and who continue to deliver amazing guest experiences and wonderful memories. My wife Brigid and I would like to thank the Fijian and greater travel and tourism industries, our loyal guests, and our amazing team.”

Malolo Island caters to many Aussie and Kiwi tourists who have returned to the Pacific destination following the pandemic.

Its parent company, Ahura, is named after an ancient god of creations who symbolised life, kindness, equality, care of the environment, charity, loyalty and faithfulness to settlement, tribe and county, something the hotel brand puts into its spots.
