TRYP by Wyndham opens in Brisbane
By admin

The opening of the South Pacific’s first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Brisbane has been celebrated as a boost for tourism in Queensland, with an official ceremony held last week to mark the launch.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games, The Honourable Jann Stuckey and Brisbane Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk along with leaders from the business, tourism and arts industries.

Cr Quirk declared the hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley open with the unveiling of a commissioned art piece by local artist David Hooper of Artist Hive.

“Brisbane continues to grow its reputation as a destination of choice for business, investment and major events,” he said.

“TRYP Fortitude Valley Hotel delivers a much-needed boutique hotel accommodation option to cater to Brisbane’s ever-increasing number of visitors and residents, as well as demand generated by G20.”

The contemporary four-storey property features 65 rooms, murals and street art by acclaimed artists Beastman, Rone, Numskull and Fintan Magee, while hotel staff are dressed by Brisbane fashion label Black Milk Clothing.

The hotel also features room service, an onsite gym, and a meeting room to host gatherings of up to 12 people, as well as being home to Brisbane’s newest rooftop bar UP on Constance and restaurant on lobby level Chur, both run by chef Warren Turnbull.

The TRYP by Wyndham brand is renowned for offering business and leisure travellers experience as well as destination, with unique lodgings in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Portugal, Sao Paulo and New York City, among others, and is part of Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company with over 7500 hotels worldwide.

Cr Quirk also added that the increased supply of quality hotel experiences would improve the region’s ability to attract visitors and provide more jobs and opportunities for local businesses.

“Wyndham Hotel Group and The McPhee Group have collaborated with local businesses, creative personalities and artists to create a unique hotel experience, which offers much more than a hotel stay,” Cr Quirk explained.

“TRYP encourages guests to ‘own the city’ and in turn showcases the Valley’s vibrant arts, entertainment and cultural offerings.”
