P&O gets icy in fundraising challenge
By admin

P&O Cruises employees jumped on the ice bucket bandwagon recently, with even the Captain of the ship getting dowsed in the chilling challenge.

Senior crew members of Pacific Pearl and Captain Tony Herriott were somewhere on the high seas between Papua New Guinea and Sydney, when they were showered with buckets of icy water in support of the global media phenomenon that supports motor neurone disease.

Hotel director Roland Ringwald, chief engineer Gaetano Festa, executive chef Patrice Mick, cruise director Gemma Gregory-Jones and people and performance manager Simon Belmar Clark participated in the challenge, raising more than $500 as passengers bid big bucks to throw water over the staff.

The challenge has raised more than $2 million globally since the original video went viral in the US, raising money for the research into motor neurone disease.
