Avis to conduct scholarship webinars

Avis to conduct scholarship webinars
By admin

Avis will conduct webinars for the first time as part of its Travel Agent Scholarship in a move to demystify the application process and to help improve agents' chances of winning the prestigious award.

Over the next month, all the major retail groups will host the webinars which will explore all aspects of the program, launched yesterday, from how to apply, to sample questions and tips on how to write – and how not to write – submissions. It will also explain the judging process.

It is hoped the webinars, which may also feature past winners of the scholarship, will reassure consultants that the application process is not onerous and encourage greater numbers of agents to enter.

Avis will also increase the amount of information featured on the scholarship's revamped website, www.avisscholarship.com.

"Some agents are a little scared to enter, others feel is might be too time consuming and the webinars will hopefully show that the process is not at all onerous," Avis travel industry manager Russell Butler.

Consultants have until close of business on August 12 to register and answer five questions on their approach to customer service.

The finalists will be announced on September 18 with the judging and awards dinner taking place in Sydney on October 29.

The winner will receive educational and travel-related prizes worth more than $40,000.
