1000MTG’s second global conference reminds agents to ‘strive and thrive’
1000 Mile Travel Group’s (1000MTG) second global conference recently finished with travel advisors and partners from the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom gathering at Hyatt Ziva Resort in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico between March 14th to March 17th.
With a focus on thriving in today’s rapidly-evolving travel industry, CEO and co-founder Nicola Veltman spoke about how the conference empowered travel advisors to revolutionise their businesses.
“With the theme of ‘strive and thrive’ attendees were able to celebrate the successes of the global community while gaining valuable insights from esteemed partners, industry panels, ambassadors, keynote speakers, and workshops,” Veltman said.
The dynamic conference agenda featured strategies for fostering continuous growth, with keynote speaker and professional development workshop leader Marques Ogden captivating attendees with his journey from NFL player, to hitting rock bottom, picking himself up again to evolve into a motivational speaker, business coach, and author.
The North American 1000MTG Top Achievers were also announced at conference with winners taking home a dazzling trophy to flaunt their triumph plus the ultimate getaway with plush accommodations.
The North American winners were Direct Access Travel Group – Top Agency, Sheri Deen Broeder – Top Advisor, David Petlin – Most Engaged Advisor, and Andrea Keiderling Fehl – Rising Star Award.
Reflecting on the conference, travel advisor Anne Cutaiar of Lake Champlain Travel shared her excitement: “It has been an amazing, information-filled conference that included keynote speaker Marques Ogden. As always, we are leaving energized after reconnecting with many of our partners and making new connections. It is exciting to be affiliated with 1000 Mile Travel Group, whose vision and technology propel us into the future.”
In addition to the engaging professional development workshops, the conference also featured social events that offered opportunities for networking and team building. The ‘Taste of Mexico’ segment included a demonstration from the culinary team at Hyatt Ziva on making the Mexican specialty Guacamole, followed by a session on the art of salsa dancing.
The closing event, the Fluorescent Fiesta, held poolside at the Hyatt Ziva, was a truly memorable affair, complete with attendees showing off their glow-in-the-dark apparel and enjoying a cocktail reception and buffet dinner and dancing the night away. A surprise LED Circus added to the spectacle, leaving attendees in awe against the backdrop of the tropical pool and stunning Los Cabos beach.
Lauren Gray, GM, Australia remarked: “The Australian and United Kingdom Team had a fantastic day on Friday, hearing from our platinum sponsors Sabre, Virtuoso, and Hyatt. We also workshopped goals and planning for the next year, with each person walking out with an actionable plan for increase business success. Ending the day with riding All Terrain Vehicles’s along the beach with the sun setting and whales breaching made for a fabulous finish to a successful day.”
Gray continued, “Above all else, I enjoyed the quality time spent with our people and our supplier partners in an absolutely stunning location.”
Christy Shafer, SVP/GM North America noted that “the true power of any successful conference lies in the connections that are made. In the beautiful setting of San Jose Del Cabo, travel advisors and supplier partners were able to forge bonds that extend beyond business, discovering new pathways to success and the enduring strength of their network.”
