Globus appoints Holiday Tours & Travel Group as Asia distributor
Edited by Travel Weekly

Globus family of brands (GFOB) has appointed Holiday Tours & Travel Group (HTT) as its distributor for the Asia region (excluding Hong Kong).

Effective as of 1 March 2024, the new distributor, headquartered in Singapore, will represent the GFOB portfolio of product in the key markets of Singapore, Malaysia (via H Travel Sdn Bhd), Thailand, South Korea and the Philippines.

The new appointment and subsequent consolidation of distribution aims to see Globus family of brands enhance its opportunities in Asia, drive increased brand awareness and amplify sales growth, with HTT enacting product sales in the respective markets utilising its expert local market knowledge and proven experience as travel industry leaders across the region.

Globus family of brands managing director Asia Pacific, Gai Tyrrell said the brand has strong ambitions for growth and the partnership with HTT is vital for the company’s expansion in Asia.

“We are excited to partner with Holiday Tours & Travel Group to enhance our distribution in five of our key Asian markets and this appointment sees us achieve efficiencies with one distributor across the region, which puts us in a strong position to drive significant sales growth,” Tyrrell said.

“It’s an exciting time of growth at Globus family of brands, with our marketing activity driving record results and new product launching in 2024/5, so we are focused on expanding our footprint and customer base in the Asia Pacific region.”

HTT’s managing director Duncan Choo commented of the appointment: “We are delighted to represent the prestigious Globus family of brands portfolio across multiple regions in Asia. We will be raising brand awareness of the Avalon Waterways, Globus and Cosmos brands and supporting our trade partners to discover the benefits of selling Globus family of brands product.”

Globus family of brands is looking to appoint a new, dedicated marketing team member in Singapore in the role of regional marketing manager, who will work directly with Globus family of brands’ Australian-based marketing team – to bolster the group’s marketing activity and boost sales in the region. Additionally, HTT has appointed sales leads in each of the regions to drive activity.

Marking the start of the partnership, the Globus family of brands APAC team, headquartered in Sydney Australia, including Tyrrell, Chris Fundell, head of marketing APAC, Fiona Sainsbury, specialty markets manager Asia, Peter Ho, head of finance APAC, David Johnson, head of customer sales and services APAC, and Lee Jones, training specialist, met with the HTT in Kuala Lumpur this week to celebrate the partnership, train and onboard HTT, and welcome them to the GFOB family.

Hong Kong will remain represented by the current GSA, as an independent market.
