Edited by Travel Weekly

Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch is on track to open in February 2024, marking the expansion of Marriott International’s Courtyard brand into Western Australia. Designed to allow travellers to transition seamlessly between work and rest, the 150-room new-build hotel will form the hospitality centrepiece of the mixed-use Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct – Perth’s fastest growing urban catchment.

Located just 10 minutes from Perth’s Central Business District and 25 minutes from Perth Airport, Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch will be a key feature of The Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. The hotel is ideally situated within close proximity to Western Australia’s largest tertiary hospitals – the Fiona Stanley Hospital and St John of God Murdoch Hospital, Murdoch University, and the South Metro TAFE Campus. Beyond the precinct, Courtyard’s proximity to Adventure World, Australia’s only hybrid theme and water park, presents the hotel as an ideal destination for families seeking adventure and entertainment.

The 150 guest rooms range from 28 to 58 square metres, combining comfort and functionality. The Dampiera Library offers bespoke meeting space geared to service small corporate groups and conferences, including a modern pre-function area, outdoor balcony and meeting room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel’s artisanal cafe and Asian bistro, Substance Restaurant and Bar, will offer flexibility and choice across breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside an elevated grab-and-go offering.

The hotel was designed by Ben Rees, Architecture Project Lead and Alex Lockhart, Interior Designer from award-winning global architecture and design firm Hassell Studios. The elegant guest rooms, including two suites, feature classic styling with plush bedding, flexible workspaces and free Wi-Fi. Communal spaces include the all-day dining Substance Restaurant and Bar, a fitness centre and meeting space.

General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch hotel, James Illing, said, “Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch perfectly complements the innovative mixed-use amenity that forms the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. The hotel will deliver a first-class hospitality offering that caters to the Precinct and the broad range of users it will attract. The modern-styled guest rooms offer a sophisticated yet comfortable stay along with a contemporary dining offering and an intimate space for meetings and small conferences on-site.
