FCTG Independent hosts agents for supplier training days

FCTG Independent hosts agents for supplier training days

Over the last two weeks, FCTG Independent hosted its second instalment of post pandemic supplier training days, with a turnout of 68 agents across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

FCTG Independent includes home-based agents across Travel Partners, Flight Centre Independent and Travel Associates at Home, as well as independent agency owners and managers who align with this rapidly growing pillar of Flight Centre Travel Group.

“These training days provide a fantastic opportunity for our agents to hear updates from some of our key suppliers and network with other FCTG Independent agents,” Paul Murrell, who ran one of the days and is the product leader of FCTG Independent Australia said.

“They are also a strong community building opportunity in a space where it is very easy to feel siloed running your own business.”

Agents received updates from a range of suppliers, including APT, Back Roads Touring, Delta, G Adventures, Globus Family of Brands, Intrepid, On The Go Tours, Royal Caribbean and Topdeck.

They also received further updates from the FCTG Independent support team, reminding them of some of the unique benefits of working through FCTG Independent, including systems and marketing support tips.

At the end of each day, the agents spent the afternoon networking over drinks with suppliers. Providing the agents with the opportunity to catch up and strengthen industry connections.

“We love working with FCTG Independent as a preferred partner,” Sean Martin, managing director APAC, G Adventures, said.

“They are clearly growing at a rapid pace and have the infrastructure in place to support partners, so we both benefit. Days like this are crucial for us to ensure that agents are all over our product.

“It is clear to see FCTG Independent are investing heavily in their independent arm and getting it right. Our product seems to resonate with experienced agents who know their customers so well and the value of an immersive travel experience.”
