Tourism NT becomes first Aussie tourism body to offer vaccine incentive

Nawurlandja Lookout offers world-class views across Anbangbang Billabong to Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock) and the Arnhem Land escarpment.

The vistas are impressive all year round. Whether you venture out first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon, you won't be disappointed. This peaceful spot is a great place to sit and take in the scenery at sunset or watch dramatic storms roll in during the tropical summer.

The Northern Territory government has announced the return of its summer tourism campaign, with some massive savings available for fully-vaccinated Aussies.

The relaunch of the ‘NT Summer Sale’ will see Tourism NT become the first Australian tourism body to offer a vaccine incentive.

As the Northern Territory enters the summer travel season, the $5 million campaign will further entice Aussie holidaymakers to explore their own backyard and embark on a summer holiday in the NT.

In partnership with Helloworld Travel and Holidays of Australia, the campaign offers a discount of up to $1,000 on a Northern Territory holiday, allowing vaccinated travellers to save on flights, accommodation, tours, attractions and vehicle hire.

The savings are based on a set discount of $200 for every $1,000 spent on an NT booking, and the sale will run from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Tourism NT’s executive director of marketing, Tony Quarmby, said the territory was the best place to be this summer.

“Summer is an exciting place in the Northern Territory, and we know there are many people around the country that haven’t had the chance to book a holiday, to experience something new, or go somewhere different,” he said.

“With over $2.3 million in savings made during last year’s NT Summer Sale, this is the perfect opportunity to book the trip you’ve been waiting for and explore the Top End and Red Centre at this incredibly rare, low price.

“With the tourism industry heavily impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic and border restrictions, we’re encouraging Australians to come to the NT this summer and have the adventure of a lifetime.”
