Marriott offers its own ‘vaccine passport’ to Aussie travellers

Marriott International is offering fully-vaccinated Australians the chance to win a long-awaited stay at 28 Marriott Bonvoy properties across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Aussies who have had both jabs for COVID-19 can go in the running to win one of five ‘Ultimate Marriott Bonvoy Packages’ – a one-night stay at each of the participating hotels and resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and New Caledonia.

Participating brands include Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, The Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, JW Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott and Four Points.

Stays at signature boutique properties are also part of the packages, such as AC Hotels and Aloft, along with Australia’s first Luxury Collection property, The Tasman, which is due to open in Hobart in December.

Existing Marriott Bonvoy members will also be able to redeem their current points balance for food and beverages, as well as other hotel amenities including luxe spa treatments, during their stay.

All you need to do to enter the competition is tell Marriott what travelling means to you in 25 words or less, sign up to Marriott Bonvoy (unless you’re already a member) and upload you COVID -19 certificate.

Sean Hunt, vice president for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, said: “It’s vital that we support and incentivise Australians to get vaccinated so we can all start travelling again as soon as it is safe to do so.

“In line with the federal and state government national vaccination rollout, Marriott’s vaccine incentive program is designed to stimulate economic recovery for our industry.

“As we head into the Christmas holidays, we want Australian’s to be able to travel to see family and experience travel across our nation again.”

Hunt said Marriott has also undertaken a suite of measures and incentives to support its associates during the pandemic, including priority access to vaccinations and scheduling flexibility to allow staff to be vaccinated, along with providing financial support and vaccination funding in Fiji and Samoa.
