Princess Cruises introduces ‘Princess Promise’, rolls out MedallionClass fleetwide

In case you need another reason to convince your clients to book their post-pandemic cruise, Princess Cruises has just sweetened the deal.

The Carnival-owned cruise line has reinforced its commitment to its guests by introducing the ‘Princess Promise’, which will ‘make it right’ when any onboard service does not meet their expectations.

The line said in a release that this may include, but is not limited to onboard credits, future cruise credits or refunds.

On top of this, the line is expanding its ‘Book with Confidence’ policy, which now allows your clients to change their vacation plans 30 days prior to the day of departure, receiving cancellation fees as a future cruise credit.

This booking option is available for any cruise bookings made through to 2 March 2021 on voyages departing through to 31 October 2021.

Princess also announced it would roll out its MedallionClass Experience on its entire fleet in 2021.

The line said in a release it’s global fleet would feature the experience upon approval to return to service, offering new features that leverage touchless technologies and significantly enhance and personalise the guest experience, as well as support new health protocols.

Coral Princess, Diamond Princess, Emerald Princess, Grand Princess, Island Princess, Majestic Princess, and Sapphire Princess will return as MedallionClass ships, along with the new Enchanted Princess.

The MedallionClass Experience features the line’s OceanMedallion wearable device which replaces the traditional cruise card.

The device pairs with embedded IoT-driven innovative technology to expand touch-free options and personalisation on board Princess MedallionClass ships.

Using this fancy piece of tech, your clients can access touchless embarkation and disembarkation, keyless stateroom entry, contactless commerce, simplified safety training, on-demand food beverages and retail items delivered anywhere on board, service requests, location-based gaming and wagering and entertainment content via smart devices.

Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz said: “Innovation is allowing us to pair guidance from public health experts with the unparalleled touch-free capabilities of the OceanMedallion, honouring our commitment to health and safety, while continuing to reinvent and simplify the experience altogether.

“During this downtime, we’ve worked behind the scenes to re-engineer our operation to give guests maximum control of their cruise vacation, as well as to activate the Princess MedallionClass Experience on all of our ships.”
