South Australia is giving away 200 return flights (and some holiday packages) to NSW travellers

In celebration of South Australia removing quarantine restrictions for leisure travellers from NSW, 200 return airfares and a handful of holiday packages to SA are up for grabs.

The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), in conjunction with Qantas and Qantas Hotels, and in partnership with Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa breakfast show, is giving away five daily major holiday packages to South Australia.

As many as 200 economy class return Qantas flights from Sydney to Adelaide are also up for grabs.

“From vineyard tours in the Barossa to luxury lodges on Kangaroo Island, glamping in the Flinders and diving with sharks in Port Lincoln, NSW residents can now discover the state’s world-class gourmet options, jaw-dropping landscapes, abundant wildlife, vibrant city life and iconic coastal culture,” SATC chief executive Rodney Harrex said.

“We have operators who are already taking strong bookings from NSW, so this is a great chance to jump on a plane, get down to Adelaide and experience all that we have on offer.”

Having launched on Monday, the competition will run across the week on-air as well as online at novafm.com.au.

Nova listeners will be encouraged to go to the radio network’s website to register in 25 words or less why they should win a holiday to Adelaide.

A daily on-air draw for the major prizes will occur, with five South Australian holidays (including two return flights for two plus a $1,500 accommodation voucher) up for grabs.

A general prize of 200 return flights, which will be promoted as 100 return flights for travellers plus a guest, will additionally be drawn daily for a two-week period. Winners will not be advised on air.

According to the SATC, NSW is South Australia’s second-largest domestic market.

Since announcing that borders between the states would reopen, southaustralia.com visits from NSW are up by 39 per cent compared to the previous week, which SATC said shows “a strong demand for travel” to South Australia from NSW.

Visitors from NSW spend more than $779 million each year in South Australia – second only to Victoria, which remains the only state in Australia from which arrivals are required to quarantine upon entering SA.
