Collette has announced a new health and wellness initiative, coined the ‘Travelling Well Experience’.

The multi-national tour operator is preparing for the new normal, with features as part of its wellness protocol to include financial travel protection, social distancing, sanitising of high-touch areas on coaches, and having antibacterial gels available at all times.

Moreover, as part of its ‘Travel Protection Plan’, Collette customers will have the ability to cancel their trips for any reason up to 24 hours prior to departure and receive a full cash-back refund.

Collette president Jaclyn Leibl-Cote said the initiative aims to mitigate health risks for guests while continuing to create tours that are clean, secure, and enjoyable.

“Our guests’ wellbeing is paramount, and we will do our best to deliver a safe and enjoyable tour,” she said.

“In this new age of physical distancing, we are doing our part by ensuring there is ample space on coaches to spread out and meals will also be arranged to take distancing into account.”

Collete’s new initiative comes in the wake of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announcing the formation of all-of-industry health and wellness protocols.

According to the WTTC, the protocols came in a bid to create an overarching industry health policy, following WHO and CDC guidelines, to avoid the emergence of multiple standards; a scenario that it said would “only delay the sector’s recovery”.
