Aussie company launches inclusive travel insurance brand

Travel company Insured By Us has unveiled a new brand that aims to provide inclusive travel insurance to all Australians.

Travel with Kit leverages its parent company’s API-driven insurance technology to build a unique policy creation model that offers four base plans and 10 optional extras, plus online pre-ex medical screening for countless policy combination.

Ben Webster, founder of Insured by Us, said: “As a build-your-own product, Travel with Kit enables the creation of travel insurance policies that meet the needs of more Australians, irrespective of certain personal circumstances which make access to insurance challenging.”

“Australian travellers include people from all walks of life, so we need travel insurance which takes this diversity into account.

“We believe in the transformative power of travel and that no Australian should be left behind. Inclusion is the backbone of Travel with Kit.”

By unbundling its policies to separate the must-haves of medical, luggage, cancellations and legal benefits, from risks associated with elective activities and specific gear like phones and sports equipment, Travel with Kit allows travellers to focus only on the cover they need.

Travel with Kit also provides options for a wider variety of trip styles than what are usually catered for. These include additional cover for devices, bikes, car rental excess, cruises, adventure sports, snow sports, water sports, and business expenses.

“If you don’t fit the ‘average’ profile, you can find yourself under-insured, or having to pay huge premiums,” Webster said.

“Travel with Kit works differently. With many options to tailor your policy at every budget level, a broader range of travellers are served.”

Travel with Kit counters the industry norm with an upper age limit of 99, an online pre-ex medical screening tool, and optional cover for cruise and golf holidays.

Similarly, its insurance can be customised for mums to be. An optional ‘Pregnancy Pack’, stretches the cover typically afforded for medical- and pregnancy- related complications from 26 weeks to 33 weeks for single pregnancies, and from 19 to 23 weeks for twins.
