Amadeus strengthens partnerships with global OTA and Chinese start-up

Travel technology behemoth Amadeus has announced a couple of new deals with existing partners, not long after posting some solid first-quarter results.

The company has strengthened its partnership with Travix through an agreement which will see Amadeus become the online travel agency’s global distribution partner.

The partnership will provide Travix’s online websites and travel operators in over 50 markets, with greater access to the breadth of content offered by the Amadeus Travel Platform.

Built on fully open systems, the Amadeus Travel Platform harnesses artificial intelligence to bring a greater level of personalised content into one integrated platform.

Meanwhile, Chinese start-up Heycars has integrated into Amadeus Transfers and part of the Amadeus Transfers Platform, providing chauffeured vehicles that can be booked in advance.

Heycars is available in 83 countries, 214 cities and 240 airports, and will now have exposure to Amadeus’ global travel agency network.

The integration with Selling Platform Connect allows travel agents to give an end-to-end service to their customers, at the best possible pricing.

End users can also make bookings in advance through Check My Trip, enabling them to skip queues and waiting time at airports and hotels.

Heycars emerged from the Amadeus Next start-up program, which fosters knowledge-sharing between entrepreneurs, who act as mentors and partners in helping start-ups scale up.

Amadeus’ new deals with Travix and Heycars comes after the company revealed positive growth in the first quarter of 2019, as well as achieving certification on the ONE Order standard as a capable Order Management System by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
