These cats have been trying to break into a Japanese museum for years
We have some very important Monday morning news for you: Two cats have been desperately trying to sneak into a museum in Japan for two years.
Talk about determination.
The two kitties, who have been trying to gain entry to the Onomichi City Museum of Art for at least two years, recently became internet sensations with videos of their efforts flooding Twitter.

The Guardian reports Ken-chan, a black cat who lives at a nearby restaurant, first began his attempts back in 2016 during an exhibition of cat photography.
“I’m guessing that Ken-chan spotted some of the exhibits through the glass, and since the photos included those of black cats, he must have thought he had found a new friend,” the museum’s curator, Shinji Umebayashi, told the Guardian.
“And then he just kept coming back.”

Soon enough, Ken-chan gained a friend in a ginger cat named Go-chan who began to accompany him to the museum.
Ken-chan has also become friends with the museum’s security guard, who gently sends him on his way whenever he makes a fresh attempt.
The viral videos of the cats’ attempts have sparked sympathy on social media, with many joining the cats’ efforts in trying to convince the museum they should be allowed in.

The two sneaky little critters are often seen on the museum grounds and try to rush past the security guard most days, according to Umebayashi.
“The museum is in a park so there’s no traffic to worry about,” he said.
“They treat the park like it’s their own garden.”
