Collette Centennial Celebration hits Brisbane

Collette has finished its nationwide Centennial Celebration, marking 100 years of tours, travelling and never-forget experiences.

After a century of touring, Collette has undoubtedly changed, with the first adventure a Jitney tour from Boston to Florida in 1918, a three-week trip which cost $68.50.

Despite a few modifications in the touring, the core of Collette has remained the same; helping travellers from around the world see every continent.

To celebrate the mammoth anniversary, Collette hosted its fourth and final celebration last night in Brisbane’s riverside Madame Wu bar.

Speaking on the night, Collette director of commercial partnerships Amanda McCann said: “It’s fantastic to be in Brisbane tonight, it’s our final event of 4 fabulous events around the country, but we certainly left the best for last!”

She added, “We recognise there is some work to be done, coming into a mature market, so we have been active to educate customers and encourage them to ask you, our partners, for Collette and this activity – on TV, radio Newspapers & key magazines – will continue.

“However partnerships really are what have contributed to Collette’s success and 100 years. It really is a milestone, to reach 100 years of operation, I believe it is something like 1.5 per cent of companies do reach it.

“So we are delighted so many of our travel agent partners are here tonight to further our partnership together,” McCann said.
