Is this the longest cruise journey EVER?

Viking Cruises has revealed details of what will be the longest cruise journey ever at 245-days, spanning 59 countries.

And with a cruise this long, those who get seasick easily would be well advised to pack as many ginger tablets as you humanly possible.

The Viking Sun will be home to the 930 passengers on board for an eight-month journey which will stop at 113 ports, with 22 overnight calls, and will touch every continent besides Antarctica.

The voyage is twice as long as Viking’s four-and-a-half-month world cruise last year.

Passengers will board in London leaving on August 31, 2019, and from there will circumnavigate around Great Britain, Iceland, Greenland and Canada, and then move along the east coast of the United States, the Caribbean and South America.

After crossing the Pacific, passengers will explore New Zealand before coming to the east coast of Australia with stops at Thursday Island, Cairns, Whitsundays, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.

Then moving through Asia, the Middle East, northern Africa and the Mediterranean, passengers will finally disembark back in London on May 2, 2020.

And what may come as a surprise to some, as per News.com the exclusive ‘owner’s suite’ valued at $342,895 has already sold out.

Cheaper options include a ‘veranda’ room which still does not come cheap, with prices starting at $117,995.

While it can appear to be a huge commitment for some, those with the time and extra cash will conveniently visit around a third of the world’s countries in a single trip, without the hassle of endless flights and hotel check-ins.

Along with this convenience, according to News.com passengers on board the Viking Sun will enjoy perks such as unlimited free Wi-Fi, a 7500-litre infinity pool, a Nordic spa with a ‘snow grotto’ and lectures from the ship’s resident historian.
