Knife-wielding seal reminds travellers not to litter

We don’t know about you, but we are LOSING OUR MINDS over this whole armed seal thing.

You heard right, folks, a knife-wielding seal has been caught on camera in Hawaii.

Capture

While this might be the cutest little meme-waiting-to-happen we’ve ever seen, it serves as a timely reminder that what we leave behind has a big impact on the wildlife around us.

The photo was posted by The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, who say the seal pup pictured, named Manu-iwa, could have been seriously injured during the incident.

“There was real concern that the seal pup might swallow the knife,” said the officer who found the seal.

“It’s a reminder to all of us to properly dispose of our trash and not to leave it on Hawaii’s beaches or in the ocean.”

Luckily, the pup eventually dropped the knife, avoiding serious injury and melting our hearts with its cute little face.
