Holy bloody smokes guys. Travel DAZE is on Monday – MONDAY!! We’re getting a bit over-excited but we just can’t help it.
On Monday, we’re going to join a stack of industry geniuses and clever career men and women – and that’s just our audience. The speakers are in another league of their own, with their success stories and huge pay packets.
So we decided to bring them down to earth so we could all relate to them a bit better. And that was by making them share their tales of failure and stuff-ups.
How nice are we?
We thought we’d give you a final rundown of all you need to know, a catch up on what our speakers are going to discuss, and final info on tickets and last minute discounts cause we’d hate you to miss out!
Essential details
Date: Monday 25 September 2017 (don’t get it confused with 2018)
Time: 8am registration opens
Highlights: free food, coffee, AND a networking extravaganza at the end of the day.
Tickets: Visit here right after you hit up hannah@travelweekly.com.au for cheeky deals and discounts.
Speaker highlights
Wendy Wu – “I couldn’t accept the failure right in front of me”
Wow, the boss lady of Wendy Wu Tours made major mistakes and could barely stand to look at them? What are they, we hear you asking. Read up on her above confessions, and make sure you tune in to her speech on Monday.
Tony Wheeler – “We had setbacks and failures”
Hard to think that the wildly successful Lonely Planet guidebooks and business started with awkward lessons, errors in judgement, and wrong directions.
But when you check out Tony’s presentation on Monday, you’ll hear some of his lessons looking back in hindsight. What a dude.
Nic Stavropoulos – “Losing focus almost always results in failure”
One of the co-founders of Excite Holidays, Stavropoulos confesses that he’s faced a tonne of challenges and failures since they started 15 years ago. He also has a few clever insights on how to avoid failure.
Why not learn from the best, we say?
Jared Simcox – “How have I failed? Extensively”
Wow, if you wanna hear a doozy of a career peppered with failure and wrong decisions, the General Manager, Australia, of Scoot airlines is your man.
He’s had more jobs than most people have had meals, and made even more mistakes over the years. But you know what, there’s no one who’s more worldly or can give better advice on getting things right and becoming a success than this guy. Don’t miss this session!
Sarina Bratton – “If you land flat, is that failure? No. It hurts for a while but you get back up”
The former Managing Director of Orion Expedition Cruises has oodles of life lessons for you to learn from.
“Every entrepreneur and every success story has many failures. Without them, we wouldn’t have new enterprises or industries,” she said.
She’s quite the woman to learn from and lovely to boot.
Jennifer Vanderkreeke – “You learn far more from failure than you do success”
The Vice President, Australia, for Carnival Cruise Lines, has a few cracking stories on failure that look at how they took Carnival global. Or at least, tried to take it global.
They made a few errors, had to retreat and lick a few wounds, and try it again. Now look at them. If there was ever a failure to learn from, it’s this one.
So what are you waiting for?!
If you haven’t bought tickets – now’s your chance. Visit here after you hit up hannah@travelweekly.com.au for cheeky deals and discounts.
And if you’re already blagged your ticket, then get excited! You’re going to hear the worst mistakes from the best people, and leave with a handful of lessons and tricks to make your own business, career and life an even greater success.
