Dalton takes on top role at Uniworld Australia

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has announced the appointment of Fiona Dalton to the role of managing director of Uniworld Australia, effective early May.

Dalton joins the river cruise line from a leadership position with Helloworld, where her most recent remit as general manager sales comprised responsibility for a multitude of brands, including The Cruise Team. Her departure from Helloworld was confirmed on Friday.

She replaces John Molinaro, whose departure was confirmed last month.

“I am incredibly excited at the prospect of joining TTC and managing one of its most aspirational brands,” Dalton said.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to engage closely with our valuable trade partners in my capacity as MD Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection Australia.”

TTC Australia chief executive John Vietch said the appointment follows an “extensive search”.

“Fiona has outstanding credentials for this role given her extensive industry knowledge and experience, proven leadership skills and exceptional commercial nous,” he said.

“We look forward to working with Fiona and her team to sustain our position as the number one luxury river cruise brand.”

Meanwhile, president Guy Young also took the opportunity to welcome Dalton to the team.

“Australia continues to be an incredibly successful growth market for Uniworld and with Fiona about to take the helm, we welcome the opportunity to further strengthen our invaluable relationships with our agent partners,” he said.

Dalton has held a number of roles throughout Helloworld, American Express Business Travel and Macquarie Group over the last two decades.
