Media agency takes responsibility for Virgin’s naughty Kanye tweet

Media agency Carat has tweeted saying an employee was behind the Virgin Australia’s tweet to Kanye West telling him “EAD (eat a dick), you douche.”

The original tweet accidentally posted from the Virgin Airlines account, which has over 210,000 followers, came after Yeezy complained that Pitchfork should have rated his album 30/10 instead of 9/10.

The tweet was quickly deleted, with Virgin Australia tweeting: “A recent tweet on our account was not published by a Virgin Australia employee and we are investigating the matter. We apologise for any offence caused.”

The social media rumour-mill kicked into overdrive, with some people claiming Virgin had been hacked or aren’t big Yeezy fans. Turns out, an employee at media agency Carat is behind the oopsie:

“The staff member responsible is still working with us and we are assessing a suitable course of disciplinary action with them,” a Carat representative told Travel Weekly‘s sister publication B&T.

In all fairness, West has been a bit of a douche with the promotion of his latest album The Life Of Pablo, including starting an Twitter argument with Wiz Khalifa after the rapper attacked Yeezy’s new album title.
