Wyndham opens up shop in Darwin

Wyndham Hotel Group has announced it will take its business to the Northern Territory, with a fresh franchise agreement.

The Group has signed on for its first hotel in Darwin under the rapidly expanding Ramada brand.

Ramada Suites Zen Quarter, Darwin, is located just a five-minute walk from the city’s central business district and offers 218 apartments with a mix of one-bedroom executive and deluxe rooms as well as two-bedroom suites, all featuring balconies.

The franchise agreement follows recent announcements from Wyndham Hotel Group for new Ramada resorts in Christchurch, Queenstown and Rotorua in New Zealand.

New resorts are also popping up in Shoal Bay, New South Wales and Hope Harbour on the Gold Coast in Queensland, further cementing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the South Pacific.

“We are excited to introduce the Ramada brand to Darwin as we continue to expand Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio throughout South East Asia and the Pacific Rim,” Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director, South East Asia and Pacific Rim, Barry Robinson, said.

“We are committed to providing quality accommodations in key markets, especially in destinations like Darwin that are increasing in popularity among both international and domestic visitors.”

Globally, the Ramada brand portfolio includes 840 hotels in over 50 countries, including 14 hotels open and operating throughout the South Pacific as of March 31, 2015.

Ramada Suites Zen Quarter, Darwin, features a swimming pool with harbour views, a gym, an onsite café, secure parking, an outdoor entertainment area, free Wi-Fi and Foxtel. All apartments overlook the city or water, with many offering views over both.
