Casablanca, a blend of ancient and modern

Casablanca, a blend of ancient and modern

Along the coastline of North Africa’s most beautiful kingdom, a young man plunges himself into the deep blue depths of a rocky ocean pool.

Surrounding him, the voices of children swimming and splashing, couples whispering and thrill seekers who, like him, enjoy the adrenalin rush that comes from jumping off the rock wall of this Casablanca bathing spot.

Just minutes down the road stands the Hassan II mosque, Africa’s largest. Welcoming up to 25, 000 worshippers in its glass floored prayer hall and with a towering 210 metre minaret – the world’s largest – the mosque sits on the shore of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. It’s without a doubt one of the most exquisite, intricately designed Islamic structures in the world.

Casablanca has more strings to its bow. Rick’s Café is modelled on the primary setting from the 1942 film Casablanca. There’s also the only Jewish museum in the Arab world and a heady mix of French inspired architecture to dazzle you.

The perfect combination of the modern and the ancient, Casablanca combines a rich cultural heritage with Western influences to make it unforgettable to all who visit.
