Beattie drives change at MTA

A revised monthly fee structure and a new earnings-based incentive scheme are some of the changes on the cards for Mobile Travel Agents, as revealed by new chief executive Don Beattie at its national conference in Canberra.

The new, multi-tiered additional Rewards & Recognition program features five levels and rewards ranging from support, website maintenance and enhancements to all expenses paid events.

“This reward programme reflects the culture of MTA which is focussed on producing quality, experiential rewards in conjunction with financial gains,” he said.

Beattie also told the 180 conference attendees that a new ‘across the board’ monthly fee of $150 inclusive of “fully-supported” websites would be implemented from January 1.

“It’s a major and very positive step forward for everyone and will allow MTA Member’s customers to interact with them directly,” he said.

Meanwhile, managing directors Roy and Karen Merricks described Beattie’s debut appearance at an MTA gathering as a “major success”.

“His input into these two new initiatives and his stewardship of the management team charged with successfully implementing both programs are indicative of exactly why we have brought him on board.”
