Midweek Interview with Stuart Simmons, Business Development Manager, Experience Travel Group

The challenge for the industry is… to evolve with online travel businesses and not keep using preferred partners which may not always satisfy their client’s holiday requirements and budget.

The things I like about my job are… the great management and staff I work with who assist our clients in having a wonderful holiday experience.

And the frustrations… are paperwork!

If I didn’t work in travel I would be a… professional golfer! If I could play like one that is…

Qantas or Virgin? The Flying Kangaroo for me.

My proudest moment was… seeing my son, Mitchell born.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… get two speeding fines within 1 hour!

I try to relax by… going for a ride, reading a book or watching a DVD

The last time I feared for my life was… when I was on the back of a moped in Hoi An, Vietnam

If I can, I always try to avoid… washing the dishes

I really wish I had… a mind which made me understand how women think!

The best advice I’ve ever received was… no such word as “can’t”.

I don’t understand why… the grass is always greener on the other side.

My greatest weakness is… not being able to sit still – always have to be doing something.

And my greatest strength… does sports trivia count?

If I was prime minister I would… give everyone the day off!

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… go on a holiday with the family.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… Shane Warne – he is still living the dream.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Canada and Alaska

My favourite holiday was… Ashes Tour 2009 – met great people, shame about the result.
