World Expeditions puts staff first with ‘day of adventure’ in Blue Mountains
Edited by Travel Weekly

World Expeditions recently treated its staff to a day of adventure, canyoning, abseiling, trekking, cycling and cultural immersion were the order of the day as employees from across Australia united and bonded over a shared love of adventure and travel in the picturesque Blue Mountains.

Truly walking the walk of its brand mantra, ‘big adventure, small footprint’, The day of adventure kicked off in the Katoomba offices of the Blue Mountains Adventure Company, one of WETG’s 16 brands, with a heartfelt Welcome to Country ceremony led by Gundungurra Elder Uncle David King.

Sue Badyari, CEO of World Expeditions Travel Group, shared insights into the WETG’s journey and future goals, also commenting on the sobering global events presently casting a shadow over the travel industry.

“It’s important to recognise the emotions we all may be experiencing with the referendum results as well as the atrocities that are playing out in the world today,” she said.

“I think we could all feel the emotion of David who graced us with his welcome to country.

Fear can be a divisive and negative force in our communities. But while fear is a darkness, tourism is the torch.

“Let’s focus on harnessing the positive outcomes our tourism activities can have in shaping the world we aspire to see.”

“We remain optimistic about the future. The World Expeditions Travel Group has exciting plans in the pipeline, including brand developments, consolidations and strategic acquisitions which will strengthen our operational capacity in new regions.”

World Expeditions recently launched an enticing trade incentive offering agents the chance to win a luxury cruise experience for two in the Galapagos Islands, valued at more than $20,000.

The winner will be the top-selling travel agent of scheduled trips with selected World Expeditions Travel Group brands by 30 June 2024.
