Mysterious new Aussie “start-up airline” set to launch in 2021

It looks like Qantas and Virgin may soon have some competition on their hands, with a new Aussie airline set to launch in 2021.

At least two job advertisements have been posted to Seek in search of a chief pilot and a head of airworthiness and maintenance control.

The ads were posted by specialist aviation services and consulting firm Complete Aviation Solutions (CAS) and said the two roles would be working for a “new start-up airline in Australia” based of out Brisbane.

The ad said the airline is looking at using Boeing 757/767 aircraft on international routes with a planned launch date of early 2021.

“We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and would like to become part of a team to create a new Australian airline,” the ad said.

Travel Weekly has contacted CAS to find out more about the new airline but has not received a response.

We also quizzed Qantas and Rex about the ad and have not received a response from them either, and we understand Virgin Australia are not involved in the new carrier.
